After five years of painting, Sara Du decided to launch her own label with the mission to reflect her art in what she loves most, clothes.

Duende is a sustainable pre-order women's wear brand founded in 2021 by Du.

Du says under her mentorship with the Fijian designer, Samson Lee through the Wearing Fiji project, she has been able to develop her label, which will debut at the Wearing Fiji Show.

Du won the Student Designer of the Year at the 2021 Wearing Fiji Fashion Show, allowing her to debut 12 pieces under her label "Duende" this year.

Following the show, the label will be stocked for 3 months at the Wearing Fiji Boutique.

Duende's pieces are reflective of Du's love of art, with a range of styles featuring artistic and colourful prints.

She says every garment is designed in Australia and manufactured in Fiji with the intention of supporting local craftsmanship.

Du says buying Duende not only allows her to share her passion but also supports a community of women in the industry.
