The Fijian Drua have revealed that there was a staggering 35 percent increase in viewership of the Drua matches in the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season compared to last year.

According to the Drua, the highest watched regular season match for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men was the Round 9 match against the Hurricanes, while the most watched match for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women was the Buildcorp Super W semi-final against the Western Force.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans says they are delighted by the very strong growth in viewership numbers and can safely say that on average, an estimated 50 percent of Fiji’s population watch a Fijian Drua Men’s match live.

Evans says this is a spectacular result in any market and makes the Drua the most viewed content in Fiji.

He says the viewership for the women’s matches is also steadily increasing which bodes well for the growth and appeal of the women’s game in Fiji.

He acknowledged the fans, who he says are the world’s best fans, for their continued support of the Drua.

The top three most viewed Fijian Drua Men’s matches this year are their match against the Hurricanes in round 9, their clash against the Reds in round 13 and against the Rebels in round 15.

Meanwhile, the Super Rugby Pacific semi finals will be held this weekend with the Blues hosting the Brumbies at 7.05pm Friday while the Hurricanes will host the Chiefs at 4.35pm Saturday.
