Former Namosi player Vinaya Habosi

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne is impressed with the development of former Namosi player Vinaya Habosi and believes he will become one of the great players for Fiji in the future.

The 22-year-old has been turning heads every week during the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

Byrne says what makes Habosi a great player is his attitude towards the game.

He says Habosi is fit, strong and is getting better every week.

He has scored three tries for the Drua this season and currently leads the statistics for defenders beaten.

Some of his achievements are being part of the extended Fiji 7s squad preparing for Tokyo Olympic Games.

He was also in the Flying Fijians extended squad for the two test matches against All Blacks in July last year.

The 22-year-old played for Namosi in the 2020 Skipper Cup and Farebrother Trophy challenge and was part of the Nadroga Under-19 team that won the Skipper Cup Under-19 title.

The Drua will meet the Waratahs at 8.45pm Friday.

In other Super Rugby Pacific matches this week, the Moana Pasifika will meet the Blues at 6.05pm this evening, the Crusaders will face the Highlanders at 6.05pm Friday, the Moana Pasifika will again meet the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday, the Reds will take on the Brumbies at 8.45pm Saturday, and the Chiefs will face the Hurricanes at 2.35pm Sunday.
