A 32-year-old driver is in custody following a fatal accident that claimed the life of a woman at Nadi Back Road yesterday afternoon.
Police say the victim was heading towards Nadi Town when the vehicle she was travelling in collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by the 32-year-old man who was trying to overtake another vehicle.
They say the victim and the 62-year-old female driver of the vehicle she was travelling in were rushed to the Nadi Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
However, the female driver is admitted to the Lautoka Hospital and is in critical condition.
Police say the investigation is in its initial stage at the moment.
