A UNAIDS report titled 2025 Global AIDS Update, AIDS, Crisis and the Power to Transform, states that since 2014, the number of new HIV infections in Fiji has risen ten-fold.
Recent statistics have also revealed a concerning rise in HIV cases in Fiji, with 1,583 new diagnoses recorded between January and December 2024 - and of these, a staggering 90.3 percent are iTaukei which is equivalent to 1,430 individuals.
