USP Double Gold Medalist, Meenal Shweta Prasad

Meenal Shweta Prasad was full of joy as all her hard work has paid off after she received two gold medal awards at the University of the South Pacific graduation ceremony today.

The gold medal awards were for the Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Information Systems and the best female undergraduate student from a USP member country in the School of Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.

She says studying during the COVID-19 pandemic was challenging as there were no face-to-face classes.

She adds what inspired her to keep pushing for excellence was her parents and family members, who kept motivating her to push through the challenges.

She acknowledged the endless support of her parents and also all teachers for teaching her for the last few years.

Prasad is currently working as a cyber security analyst at Vodafone Fiji and aims to pursue her career in the cyber security field.

Around 1,786 students will be graduating from USP this week.
