19-year-old Litiana Donumaitoga overcame all her challenges to come out on top of the 35 newly recruited Fiji Corrections Service wardens as she was awarded the Baton of Honour.

Donumaitoga who is from Veivatuloa in Namosi says being a female and to be chosen as the most consistent in all areas of assessments is a proud moment for her and her family.

She says the challenges that she faced during the training brought her to what she has achieved so far.

Donumaitoga says she wants to be the shining light to all the young women out there that they still can make it in a men dominated field.

While speaking to the 36 young wardens, Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau says discipline is a quality everyone should harness.

Koroilavesau says success is not only measured by power or social status but it is by the ability to have self-discipline.

He says discipline allows people to walk away from unwanted trouble which enables them to give their all in the task they have now pledged to undertake.
