Diwali is not just a festival of lights, but a celebration of duty, discipline, and devotion — the very values that define police service.

Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu highlighted this in his Diwali message emphasizing Diwali’s values of light over darkness, duty, discipline, and responsible celebration for a safer, harmonious society.

Tudravu says Diwali, the festival of lights, holds a deep cultural and spiritual meaning for all of us, as it signifies the triumph of light over darkness, of good over evil, and the victory of truth and righteousness.

Drawing inspiration from the story of Lord Ram, Commissioner Tudravu reminds officers that the values of duty, discipline, compassion, and righteousness are at the core of effective policing.

He commends the dedication of officers who continue to uphold justice, integrity, and public safety, saying their work reflects the spirit of Diwali — ensuring that good prevails over wrongdoing in society.

Reaffirming the Fiji Police Force’s commitment to excellence, the Commissioner urged officers to uphold the law without fear or favor, treat every citizen with respect and dignity, embrace transparency and accountability, and strengthen unity and support within the force.

Commissioner Tudravu is also appealing to the public to celebrate Diwali safely and responsibly, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation and mutual respect.

He adds that no matter how great the darkness, light will always prevail when everyone remain righteous, courageous, and committed to the truth.
