Diloi aims to excel in her studies at the USP

Mareca Diloi from Ratu Finau Secondary School in Lau has arrived in Suva and was a mix of excitement and nerves at the thought of beginning university studies.

Diloi and schoolmates Timaima Tawake and Mere Waqanisau will join the University of the South Pacific this year.

Diloi says she is here to excel in her studies and support her parents.

She says being the eldest child, she is aware of her family and community's expectations because making it to university is an achievement for her.

She says the orientation session is beneficial to all first-year students as they are taken on campus and city tours, meeting with academic staff to discuss their programmes and get their ID cards with other services all at one location.

The Vodafone Fiji USP Orientation programme at the Laucala Campus will run until the 21st of next month to help students transition smoothly into tertiary studies.
