Great news as Digicel Fiji has today introduced the groundbreaking Digicel TV App – a first in Fiji.

The company says this app is your ticket to the world of international sports and scintillating entertainment, right at your fingertips and on the go.

Digicel Fiji and Sky Pacific say they are thrilled to unveil this expanded TV broadcast license granted by the Fijian Government.

These services include entertainment on the go where you can stream sports, movies, news and educational content directly from your eligible smartphone with an active Digicel mobile data plan, new advertising opportunities, local content where Digicel Fiji can now broadcast and stream local content, including advertisements, on Sky Pacific and DTV app, boosting the local content industry and offering more viewing options for Fijians.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Farid Mohammed says they are thrilled to expand their entertainment offerings for their valued customers.

He says this will allow them to deliver greater choice and flexibility to customers while bolstering support for the local content industry and advertisers.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica says the removal of the draconian Media Industry Development Authority Decree has facilitated opportunities for all mobile service providers to provide value added service to the people of Fiji and he congratulates Digicel on the new service offerings made possible through the variation of licences.

Kamikamica says they have seen a global shift towards online and on-demand streaming as more and more people have access to smart handheld devices.

Digicel customers will enjoy a complimentary Basic plan, with a choice to upgrade to Standard (12 channels) or Premium (23 channels). To kick start the excitement, they are offering a 3-day premium trial pass exclusively for those who download the DTV App tomorrow.
