23-year-old, Setareki Nasoki from Namoli Village in Lautoka, has opened up about the challenges that forced him to live on the streets after his parents divorced while he was still in primary school.

Nasoki says the separation deeply affected him, leaving him without a stable home or proper support.

He says as he grew older, he often found himself going days without food, and the hardship led him down a difficult path of sniffing glue and using marijuana.

Despite the struggles, he says he has never stopped praying for a better future.

He believes that one day he will turn his life around, leave his past behind, and become the person he has always hoped to be.

Nasoki is one of the 21 street dwellers in Lautoka whom Makereta Mafini is currently housing at her residence.
