PS for Waterways and Environment, Joshua Wycliffe

Permanent Secretary for Waterways and Environment, Joshua Wycliffe says the Department of Environment is waiting for the Environment Impact Assessment report for the World Wave Project.

The World Wave Project designs new seabed profiles to create new surf breaks.

On the project in Qamea, Taveuni, the World Wave Project says re-shaping is proposed in the shallow areas of the reef and following the outcomes of the independent ecological investigations, the sites selected have very little marine life.

When asked by fijivillage on what is the Department’s stand on this, Wycliffe says they would look at all issues.

He says he will not say anything further until the Department of Environment comes back to him with their decision.
