Defending champs Lautoka secure semi-final spot with 1–0 victory over Rewa

Defending champions Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka are aiming to retain their title and have become the first team to officially qualify for the BiC Fiji FACT semi-finals after beating Ajay Trading Rewa 1–0 this afternoon.

Saula Waqa scored the only goal of the match in the 27th minute, giving Lautoka a 1–0 lead at half-time.

The second half remained goalless, with Lautoka focused on defending and Rewa pushing hard to equalise.

Saula Waqa says he is extremely grateful to the almighty and to his teammates, who gave their best and worked together.

He adds that teamwork was crucial in securing the win.

Waqa also expressed his gratitude to the coaches for helping them develop strategies for both attacking and defending.

He says he believes the team can successfully defend the title this season.

In other matches today, Partslink Automotive/Manasa Exports Nadroga defeated Extra Supermarket Labasa in a thrilling 2–1 encounter.

Meanwhile, the match between Blue Gas Navua and Dayals Sawmillers Ba is currently underway at HFC Bank Stadium, while Stratum Construction Suva will face Bula Rentals & Tours Nadi at 5pm.
