Crusaders demolished the Blues 52-15 in the first 2023 Super Rugby semi final

The first semi final clash of the 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific between defending champions the Crusaders and the Blues did not end as expected by a lot of fans to be a close contest as the Crusaders battered the Blues 52-15 in Christchurch last night.

The Crusaders showed why they are the defending champions and are a different team altogether when it comes to the playoffs when they outclassed a determined Blues side scoring 6 tries to the Blues’ 2 tries with Richie Mo’unga scoring 22 points for the men in red and black.

The battle of the flyhalves anticipated by a lot of fans between Mo’unga and Beauden Barrett was rather a one-sided affair as Mo’unga displayed class and sheer determination to steer the Crusaders well to a dominating victory.

The Crusaders led 32-3 at halftime before they scored a further 20 points in the second spell with the Blues scoring 12 consolation points.

The second semi final will be at 7.05pm tonight between the Chiefs and the Brumbies at FMG Stadium in Waikato.
