Former Flying Fijians coach and current Blues head coach Vern Cotter believes the Crusaders’ playoff record is there to be broken and the Blues are capable of doing that.
After their last-minute 20-19 win over the Chiefs on Saturday, Cotter and his Blues side have turned their focus to their semi final clash against an impressive Crusaders outfit in Christchurch this Friday.
Cotter says nothing lasts forever when referring to the Crusaders’ playoff unbeaten record.
He says their job is to prepare as best they can, and it will be what will be, but they will certainly be determined to back the performance up against the Chiefs over the weekend, this week.
Cotter says the Crusaders are a tough team, but one day they’ll lose on their home ground in the playoffs, and if it can be against the Blues, they will certainly be pushing as best they can for that.
The Blues scored a last-minute converted try against the Chiefs on Saturday to claim the win after trailing throughout the match.
Meanwhile, the Crusaders shut out the Reds 32-12 in the first playoff on Friday to book a home semi final.
The Crusaders will take on the Blues at 7.05pm Friday in the first semi final in Christchurch.
In the second semi final, the Chiefs will host the Brumbies at 7.05pm Saturday in Hamilton.
