2019 Fijiana Player of the Year, Sereima Leweniqila stated that she was shocked to receive the award as the caliber of players contesting the awards were game changers and better players than her.

Speaking to Fijivillage after receiving her award, Leweniqila says it is quite an achievement for her to be recognised for her contribution to the development of women’s rugby in the country.

She adds her rugby career has not be an easy one as she tries to balance it with work and through her faith in God she has endured all the hardships in her life.

Leweniqila says the continuous support from families and friends has been an inspiration for her in improving her rugby career.

Meanwhile, Jerry Tuwai was named the Fiji 7s Player of the Year while Raijeli Daveua received the 2019 Fijiana 7s Player of the Year award.

Fiji Latui coach Senirusi Seruvakula received the 2019 Coach of the Year Award.
