Commander had corrected the inciting and misrepresenting report with FBC - Tikoduadua

Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua

Minister for Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua says the Commander of the RFMF, Major General Jone Kalouniwai had contacted the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation to correct their reporting regarding the RFMF statement.

Speaking in a press conference, Tikoduadua says the Commander’s statement was sensationalised by the press, where he is concerned that FBC is inciting and misrepresenting what Kalouniwai had said.

When asked whether he has had any discussions with the Army Commander regarding the Republic of Fiji Military Forces statement, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says he does not have any direct communication with the Commander as he is under the Minister for Home Affairs.

Meanwhile, government broadcaster FBC had earlier reported that there was a meeting between Major General Jone Kalouniwai and Rabuka yesterday afternoon.

fijivillage News confirms there was no such meeting as Major General Kalouniwai only met with Tikoduadua at the Government Buildings.

We have sent questions to FBC, however, they are yet to respond.
