All Blacks veteran Codie Taylor will not be part of the Crusaders side this Friday when they take on the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in the Super Rugby Pacific.

The Crusaders confirmed yesterday that while Taylor won't play in Friday's clash due to a rib cartilage injury, he's making "good progress" and doesn't require further diagnosis.

The veteran hooker didn't retake the field for the second half of the 37-26 victory at Canberra last Saturday and was sent for scans after the game.

Coach Scott Robertson described Taylor's injury as "not great". The team didn't specify a timeframe for his return, saying they will see how he progresses throughout the coming week.

The Crusaders will meet the Fijian Drua at 7.05pm Friday.

In other matches, the Reds will take on Moana Pasifika at 9.45pm Friday, the Chiefs will play the Force at 4.35pm Saturday, the Rebels will face the Hurricanes at 7.05pm Saturday, the Blues will meet the Brumbies at 9.45pm Saturday, and the Waratahs will take on the Highlanders at 3.35pm Sunday.
