Initiatives like cleanup campaigns extend beyond beautifying spaces, foster a sense of community and collaboration, reduce tensions, build trust and strengthen social bonds.

While speaking at the cleanup campaign for peace, stability and prosperity at Bilo Settlement in Lami, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Fiji Nor’Azam Mohd Idrus says small acts of service such as cleanup have the power to unite communities and create lasting positive change.

Nor' Azam says true prosperity lies in working together and sharing responsibility for the well-being of our friends.

He says a clean and safe environment also contributes to resource management, land use and space.

The Commissioner says a cleanup campaign can mitigate long-term challenges such as health crises that often threaten stability.

He adds we have an opportunity to strengthen relationships among key stakeholders in our society by addressing critical challenges like climate change, building stronger communities and promoting peace and prosperity for all.
