Children have been found in Nausori Town sniffing glue behind the supermarkets, and Police confirm that they have had to take them home to their parents.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu says Police will continue to call on parents and guardians to monitor their children’s whereabouts, as they always tell children to return to their homes.

He says patrols are frequent and regular and they will continue to call for better supervision of children.

He adds some children are opting not to be home, which is also a factor that needs to be carefully analysed.

ACP Driu says they are working with the stakeholders to address the root causes of why children opt not to stay at home and loiter in the streets.
