Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan has echoed the same sentiments that Blues coach Vern Cotter shared last week before their semi final clash against the Crusaders about the Crusaders’ home finals record saying it will not last forever.
Heading into this weekend’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific final, the Chiefs are looking to be the first team to break the Crusaders’ home finals winning record.
McMillan says records do not last forever.
He says the Chiefs have had losing records, and that eventually got broken for the positive.
He adds it is a number, and they respect the fact that the Crusaders have made it a real fortress in Christchurch.
McMillan says it is something the home side are fiercely proud of, and rightly so, but it does not have any bearing on what unfolds on the day.
He says it is just about which team turns up with the right mindset, and the right plan, and executes for however long it takes to get the job done.
The Chiefs will take on the Crusaders at 7.05pm this Saturday in Christchurch.
