Chiefs number eight Luke Jacobson has escaped further sanctioning after his red card during their 20-19 win over the Western Force.

Jacobson is the first player in the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman competition to receive a red card after he was issued two yellow cards during their one-point win.

The 24-year-old was initially sent from the field in the 35th minute after collapsing the maul close to their try-line, with the Force subsequently awarded a penalty try.

He was then gone for good in the 64th minute after repeated infringements on their line.

The case was referred to SANZAAR's Judicial Committee, who believed the on-field sanction was justified and Jacobson would not miss any further time for his actions.

This will ensure that Jacobson is free to face the Brumbies at 7.05pm Saturday.

In other matches, the Hurricanes will play the Rebels at 7.05pm Friday, the Western Force will face the Highlanders at 9.45pm Friday, the Blues will take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, and the Crusaders will face the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday.
