Chew directs investigation into incident involving police vehicle

Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew has directed the Divisional Police Commander West to provide a detailed report on the incident that involves a police vehicle hitting a man which resulted in him being admitted at the Nadi Hospital.

The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday in Votualevu.

The Acting Commissioner has directed investigations to be conducted in two folds.

He says the first element of the investigation will be on the accident, whereby the victim is admitted in a stable condition at the Nadi Hospital.

Chew adds the second part will be into the officers alleged failure to report the accident.

Chew says necessary disciplinary actions will be taken against those involved.
