Catastrophic economic policies downfall of FijiFirst – Rabuka

Injustice is when Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum are preaching chaos and treachery – PA Leader

Peoples Alliance Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka

The People’s Alliance has come out strongly in support of comments made by the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Major General Jone Kalouniwai at the Commander’s parade for 2022.

People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka says he agrees with the Commander that bad choices may result in unjust laws, needless conflicts and violence and calamitous economic policies.

Rabuka says one needs not to look farther than post 2014 and 2018 where majority of the people trusted and chose Voreqe Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum only to realise the bad choices these two made through the mass enactment of unjust laws to right the wrong, needless conflicts through proceedings and disastrous economic policies.

Rabuka adds that he totally agrees with the Commander RFMF as the military’s constitutional mandate in section 131(2) of the 2013 Constitution is the refuge for those who is on a fearmongering expedition.

He says the security, defence and well-being of Fiji and all Fijians is the overall responsibility of the RFMF.

Rabuka says injustice, however, is when Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum are preaching chaos and treachery if the FijiFirst Party is not voted by the people, creating fear.

The People’s Alliance Leader says this is a sign of severe desperation akin to a captain going down with his ship.

Rabuka says under the PA/NFP government, the role of the army and navy will be “enhanced to be at the forefront of climate change adaptation, and assisting in rebuilding climate resilient communities.

He stated that the People's Alliance will focus a lot more efforts on adapting to the changing climate and the increasing frequency of natural disasters.

The People’s Alliance Leader further says that this is in sharp contrast to the Bainimarama government’s mitigation strategy over the past decade, focused on trying to convince developed nations to limit their emissions.

However Rabuka says that Bainimarama gallivants around the world, while the people in Fiji struggle to rebuild their lives.
