Cashless transactions adopted in Kadavu after the launch of M-PAISA QR

Using cash to pay for goods and services will now become a thing of the past for the people of Kadavu following the launch of the Vodafone M-PAISA QR at the Advanced Store in Vunisea.

Advance Store owner Viliame Naqelevuki says one of the challenges faced by the people is the payment of goods and services because there are no banks on the island.

Naqelevuki says one day when he was travelling to Suva, he met a Kadavu man working for Vodafone Fiji who shared with him the benefits of using M-PAISA. He says the idea was interesting to him, so he opted to try it out.

The Roko Tui Kadavu Kitione Raibevu says the launch will benefit Kadavu in the decentralization of the services at the Post Office and also input the value of savings to the lives of the villagers.

Head of Vodafone eCommerce and Corporate Affairs Shailendra Prasad says they are confident that M-PAISA will soon become the preferred means of making payments for shopping and also sending and receiving money.

Prasad says now Kadavu is part of the cashless revolution using mobile payment just as many other technological advanced economies.
