Good news for villagers in Rotuma and Lakeba Island in Lau as they can now access COVID-19 vaccines.

The Health Ministry through the support of Wayne and Deborah Hinton from Advanced Aviation Training and the Sea Mercy team, were able to deliver vaccines to Rotuma yesterday morning.

Medical teams in Lakeba have also started with the vaccination campaign after receiving the vaccines.

Vaccines have also reached the Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups.

During the Bula Ko Lau discussion forum, the Health Minister Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete had highlighted the Ministry will be using the sea and air to transport the vaccines to maritime areas, so they can also be protected from COVID-19.

The Head of the Vaccination Taskforce, Doctor Rachel Devi is urging villagers to get educated about the vaccine and get protected from this deadly virus.
