Communications Fiji Limited confirms that it has had an unfortunate incident this afternoon at Fiji Showcase 2023 where a 21-year-old woman has passed away while 2 others are admitted in critical condition at the CWM Hospital.

The three women fell from a ferris wheel that they were on.

Police are investigating the incident.

Communications Fiji Limited’s deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two that are still in hospital.

CFL confirms all the amusement rides are independently operated and were passed by National OHS officials for which a certificate was received.

An independent inspection of all the amusement rides is being conducted and the rides have been shut down since the incident.

Out of respect for the unfortunate incident that occurred, CFL had decided to suspend yesterday's entertainment programme.

CFL will continue with the full programme today.
