Police have confirmed they will be investigating the claims made by Nausori businessman Zulfikar Ali about drug dealing, prostitution, loitering, drinking in public areas and street kids causing havoc in Nausori Town.

Speaking at the Revised National Budget consultation at Hexagon Complex at Koronivia in Nausori last night, Ali claimed that Nausori Town is being run by thugs now as there are some Police officers who are breaking into supermarkets.

He claimed that some police officers are directly colluding with thugs.

Ali says it has come to a place where they have to call the Police Special Response Unit to assist the business people.

He says some people do not want to invest in Nausori Town.

Ali adds he has a friend who came in from Sydney on Sunday and he is still deciding whether to invest in Nausori or take that investment to Nadi or Suva.

He says they need more cameras in Nausori Town because the security situation is depleting.

The Attorney General thanked Ali for raising these issues.

Sayed-Khaiyum says he was not aware of all these issues but he will certainly talk to the Police Commissioner about it.
