Bulikiobo and Adivakarairua get another gold in Open Boys and Girls 3,000-metre race

Peni Bulikiobo of Jai Narayan College and Suva Grammar’s Makelesi Adivakarairua won the 3,000-metre Open Boys and Girls races this morning at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2.

This is the second gold for both athletes after winning their respective races in the 1,500-metre event yesterday.

Bulikiobo won the Senior Boys 1,500 metres while Adivakarairua took home gold in the Junior Girls.

Marist Brothers High School is leading the Boys’ division medal tally with 16 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze, Grammar is in second place with 8 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze, while Jai Narayan College is third with 2 gold and 1 bronze.

In the Girls' division, Grammar leads with 12 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze, closely followed by Saint Joseph’s Secondary School with 10 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze, Nuku Secondary is third with 2 gold and 2 silver.

The 4x400 metres relay heats are at 10.50am, with the finals at 2.45pm.

The 800-metre finals are at 12.30pm, with the 4x100-metre finals at 2pm.

The 200-metre heats are currently underway, with the finals at 1.15pm.
