The Broncos have moved into fourth spot with one round remaining in the NRL before the finals after downing the Cowboys 38-30 in a gripping Queensland derby in Townsville.
Despite having no hope of playing finals, the Cowboys pushed the Broncos to the limit but just fell short in their last game of the season.
For the Broncos, the win was enough to leapfrog the Warriors into fourth spot following the New Zealand team's loss to the Eels 26-22 on Friday night.
Reece Walsh was brilliant for the Broncos in attack, creating five tries.
He also committed five errors, but never went into his shell as he took on the playmaking duties in the absence of Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam.
Payne Haas and Kotoni Staggs also starred for the Broncos, who play the Storm next week.
Meanwhile, the Raiders made it 10 wins from 11 games at GIO Stadium this season after beating Wests Tigers 24-10 last night before being presented with the JJ Giltinan Shield by NRL CEO Andrew Abdo before a capacity crowd.
The Manly Sea Eagles kept their finals hope alive with a 40-24 win over the Dragons.
Looking at the matches today, the Sharks will take on the Knights at 4pm and the Dolphins will face the Titans at 6.05pm.
