The British & Irish Lions began their Australian tour on a high note as they showed their class and flair to demolish Western Force 54-7 at Optus Stadium last night.

Player of the match Joe McCarthy and young Henry Pollock were superb for the visitors as they blew away the Force in the second half in front of 46,656.

The British & Irish Lions scored a total of eight tries, with scrumhalf Tomos Williams and fullback Elliot Daly scoring two tries each.

Other tries came from Captain Dan Sheehan, Garry Ringrose, Joe McCarthy and Alex Mitchell.

The Force only managed to score one try from Nic White.

The British & Irish Lions will face Queensland Reds at 10pm Wednesday, they then will meet the Waratahs at 10pm next Saturday, they will play the Brumbies at 10pm on the 9th of July before playing the Wallabies at 10pm on the 19th of July.
