A 13-year-old boy from Naselai Village in Tailevu is believed to have drowned yesterday afternoon.

Police say the boy tried to jump on a bamboo raft from a nearby tree when he fell into the Naselai River and disappeared.

Two friends who were swimming with the boy raised the alarm and the villagers managed to discover the body.
