George Bower is now out of the running to don the Fiji Water Flying Fijians jumper later this year after he was recalled into the All Blacks squad to replace fellow Crusader Tamaiti Williams.
Williams will require surgery for a torn meniscus following the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Final.
He was assessed by a surgeon this morning who confirmed that Williams will need surgery ruling him out of the Lipovitan-D July Series.
The All Blacks host France Saturday at 7.05pm at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin.
Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians take on the Wallabies at 3.30pm Sunday in Newcastle.
