Flying Fijians captain Lepani Botia continues to shine at flanker for his La Rochelle side as he scored a try to help his side beat Jale Vatubua and Lekima Tagitagivalu’s Pau side 36-32 in their top 14 round 20 clash earlier today.
Botia has been in top form for La Rochelle lately and has cemented his spot on the no.7 jersey.
The 33-year-old scored the first try of the match in the 18th minute after being involved in two consecutive phases.
He also made some explosive runs that had the opposition scrambling in defense to try and contain him.
Meanwhile, Tagitagivalu started at lock for Pau while Vatubua came off the bench in the second spell.
In other top 14 matches, Masivesi Dakuwaqa’s Montpellier beat Peceli Yato’s Clermont 34-6, Edward Sawailau’s Perpignan overcame Sireli Maqala’s Bayonne 34-27, Filipo Nakosi’s Castres pipped Josua Tuisova’s Lyon 27-22, Setareki Tuicuvu’s Brive lost to Bordeaux 28-7 while Jiuta Wainiqolo and Waisea Nayacalevu helped their Toulon side beat Peniasi Dakuwaqa’s Stade Francais 37-9.
