Black Ferns win first leg of Mini 7s beating Fijiana 7s 21-5 in the final round

Olympics champion NZ Black Ferns has scooped the first leg of the Fiji Airways Miniternational 7s tournament after beating the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team 21-5 in the last round of the competition at Albert Park today.

The Black Ferns outran the Fijiana team utilising their backline experience and scoring score 3 tries, while Reapi Uluinasau scored the only try for Fiji.

In the other match of the final round, France beat Australia 22-7.

The second leg of the Fiji Airways Mini 7s will be held at Churchill Park, Lautoka next Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, Suva has won the 2023 UN Women’s Provincial 7s tournament U17 title after defeating Lautoka 22-7 while Suva defeated Naitasiri 14-7 to scoop the U19 final.

The tournament was also held at Albert Park today.
