Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says close to 24 sites in Vanua Levu are expected to be completed by the end of this month which is expected to provide better connectivity to people.

While speaking during the opening of the UNCDF Satellite Office in Suva, Sayed-Khaiyum says they are connecting health centres, schools and people living around those schools.

Sayed-Khaiyum also says about 95 to 96% of people have access to mobile and internet connectivity and they are aiming to connect the remaining percentage.

He adds they announced a program called ‘Connecting the Unconnected’ in the budget.

Sayed-Khaiyum also says they are spreading the ability of people to use technology.

He says once they have made the technology available in the very basic form, they need to be able to move on to the next level of how do they use that technology for further advantage to be able to improve and empower people.
