After suffering a life-threatening heart attack, Suresh Chandra’s story is one of hope, healing, and gratitude made possible through world-class cardiac care available at PSH Hospitals.

When 68-year-old Suresh Chandra suffered a heart attack two months ago, his family feared the worst. The doctors revealed three major blockages in his heart, and the only way forward was a Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), a procedure once only possible overseas.

His son, Krish Chand, recalls the terrifying days that followed. “It was the scariest time for our family. We were told Dad needed urgent surgery. Our best option was to come to PSH Hospital in 1 Legalega Road, Nadi and that decision saved his life,” he said.

Under the care of renowned cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon Dr Sanjeev Khulbey, Suresh underwent a successful bypass surgery.

“Chandra’s case involved significant blockages, and surgery was the safest and most effective solution,” Dr Khulbey explained. His positive attitude and his family’s support played a huge role in his healing process.”

For Krish, seeing his father regain his health felt nothing short of a miracle.

“Life is given by God, but it is saved by doctors,” he said emotionally.

“After the operation, Dr Sanjeev assured us that my dad was in good hands and he truly was,’’ he said.

Krish expressed deep gratitude to the entire PSH Hospitals team for their compassion and professionalism.

“The doctors, nurses, and staff were humble, caring, and always ready to help. It didn’t feel like a hospital; it felt like home,” he shared.

“It’s a blessing. “My dad got a second chance, and we didn’t have to leave Fiji for it,’’ Krish said, smiling

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of PSH Hospitals, Parvish Kumar said stories like Suresh’s reflect the hospital’s mission to make advanced healthcare accessible in Fiji.

“Not long ago, patients had to travel to India or abroad for cardiac surgeries, now with our team of specialists and state-of-the-art facilities, we can provide world-class treatment right here at home,’’ he said proudly.

Today, PSH Hospitals stands as Fiji’s leading super-specialty hospital — a trusted name across the Pacific for delivering cutting-edge treatment with compassion and expertise.
