A new beach themed bar named “The Wreck” which is owned by Aquarius On The Beach opened at Wailoaloa Beach last night.

The bar is built around a 35 foot fibreglass boat with mahogany bar counters, a full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and pine stumps in the sand for seating.

Hotel Manager Shalini Mohammed says they had planned this venture two years ago but the onset of COVID-19 and the closure of the borders put a stop to all those plans.

Mohammed says their plans moved forward once again once tourism resumed in December last year and they are really pleased with the results.

She says the venture reflects the owners’ optimism about the gradual return to normalcy for Fiji’s tourism industry.

Mohammed says it is the perfect place to enjoy drinks in the afternoon and watch the sun go down.

She says their beach location, team of bartenders and music creates just the right atmosphere to spend time with friends or loved ones.

The bar is open to the general public as well as to hotel guests.
