Be passionate about your goal and work hard to achieve it – Fashion School graduate

Be passionate about your goals and work hard to achieve it.

These were the words of Samantha Kaushal who recently graduated with a Fashion, Manufacturing and Design Certificate from the 2023 batch 1 of the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre.

Kaushal says she was always interested in sewing as a young child and later thought to utilise her hobby to earn and be able to look after some expenses.

She says her father could not afford to send her to school and by not having any qualifications made it difficult for her to cope with the increase in the prices of goods and services.

The 28-year-old says she will look for opportunities through which she can improve the lives of her family.

Kaushal adds it was never easy for her to leave her eldest son and go out looking for jobs as he has autism and requires her attention.

She acknowledged her husband who is the sole breadwinner in the family, stating that he has always been supportive in her decision making.
