Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has sent his well wishes to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on the occasion of the 181st anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.

In a congratulatory letter, Bainimarama says the commemoration of this symbolic event represents New Zealand’s commitment towards the principles, values and aspirations that the two countries share.

He says the strength of Fiji and New Zealand’s bilateral relations has been increasingly evident during these unprecedented times.

Bainimarama has also conveyed Fiji’s appreciation to New Zealand for their support and assistance to Fiji in its rebuilding and recovery efforts from COVID-19 and TC Yasa.
