Residents of Sabeto and other nearby areas including Waimalika, Nadele, Masimasi and Nalado in Nadi are requesting for urgent action to be taken by the Fiji Roads Authority as there are poor bus services provided due to bad road conditions.

Vinod Prasad of Masimasi says this has been an issue for the past 2 to 3 years as due to poor road conditions the buses arrive late in their areas and reach town late as well.

He further says there are less bus services provided and sometimes the drivers drop the passengers halfway only.

Prasad says they also have to hire a cab or other transport to return home from town and or from their workplaces which cost them around $10 for one way.

Meanwhile, Minister for Transport and Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau says this has been an issue faced by the Ministry when they came into government this year however, the Ministry is looking into the budget and the planning regarding the processes to deal with poor road issues in the future, especially the urgent ones.

We sent questions to the Fiji Roads Authority last Friday.

They are yet to respond.
