Ba Union Manager Pita Matakitoga

Ba Rugby Union is set to open their 2025 Skipper Cup campaign with high energy and a squad made up entirely of local players.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s round 1 clash against defending champions Suva, Union Manager Pita Matakitoga says preparations have gone well over the past month, and they are excited to take the field against a mighty Suva team.

He says they have got a lot of new players this year, all selected from their local club and tikina competitions, and many of them come from villages and the interior of Ba.

He adds that they even have players representing all 14 provinces.

Matakitoga is calling on supporters across the province to turn up in numbers tomorrow as they host the defending champions.

Ba will host Suva at Govind Park.

Other Skipper Cup round 1 matches tomorrow include Lautoka hosting Nadi, Naitasiri taking on Malolo, Nadroga playing Macuata and Tailevu hosting Vatukoula.

In the Marama Championship round 1 matches tomorrow, Tailevu will host Namosi, Lautoka will play Nadi, Naitasiri will take on Yasawa, Nadroga will play Nasinu, and Kadavu will take on Suva.
