In a spectacular display of attacking rugby, Ba has been crowned the new champions of the Royal Tea Ranadi Trophy, after overcoming a spirited challenge from Macuata with a final score of 47-30.
Ba looked good from the start as they built scoreboard pressure crossing the line for three converted tries.
Macuata, replied with two tries of their own to keep them within reach, however, their inability to convert left them trailing at the break, with the scoreboard reading 19-10 in Ba's favour.
Any hopes of a Macuata comeback were met with a relentless second-half performance from the new champions.
Ba blitzed the second half running in four more converted tries to extend their lead.
Macuata continued to fight valiantly, adding to their tally with a converted try, two unconverted tries, and a penalty kick, but they were ultimately unable to close the gap.
As the final whistle blew, the Ba squad erupted in celebration, claiming the shiny new trophy they will now carry back to their town as heroes.
Despite the loss, Macuata can hold their heads high after a performance full of grit and determination.
Ba and Macuata are also through to next year’s prestigious Subrails Marama Cup.
