Ba Town Council CEO, Priya Singh says they hope to finish cleaning up the town today and open it for business from tomorrow.

The town was flooded until Monday following heavy rain throughout the weekend.

The National Fire Authority and the RFMF teams have been cleaning the town since yesterday.

The Ba Bus Stand has been cleared and is now operational.

Singh says all shops in the town have been affected by flood waters.

She says they will be meeting with the shop owners later this week to assess the cost of damages.

The Advisory Councilor for Veisaru, Ba Lailesh Narayan Louis says the residents are grateful that flood waters did not inundate their homes but most of the farms have been destroyed.

Louis further says they do not have water supply since the weekend.

He says they have been reassured by the Water Authority of Fiji that supply will be restored by tomorrow.
