Ba Rugby just received a boost as Sportsworld signed an agreement this week to become the Official Match Ball Sponsor of the Ba Rugby Union.

Ba will use the Gilbert match balls supplied by Sportsworld for all domestic fixtures this season.

Sportsworld General Manager, Vinod Kumar, explained that this sponsorship is part of the company’s ongoing investment at grassroots level.

Kumar says SportsWorld is already the title sponsor of the Fiji Under 20s team which shows their commitment is to the development of sports, especially in age grade and grassroots areas.

He says as they are halfway through the season, this arrangement takes them through to the end of the year, then they can review with Ba Rugby and decide how best to provide support in 2026.

Ba Rugby Union Director of Rugby, Vilimoni Delasau, who was present at the launch at the Courts store in Ba, welcomed Sportsworld’s valued contribution that is helping to build Ba Rugby.

Delasau says they need high quality match balls for all their tournaments.

He says like the Vinod Patel Cup, Inox Trophy and the Ba Tikina Championships all require good match balls; and the three Ba representative teams preparing for the Skipper Cup and Ranadi Cup need to train with match balls too.

The sponsorship also includes other benefits, including discounts at Sportsworld stores for all Ba Rugby Union ID Card holders.
