The Ba Chamber of Commerce is calling on authorities to look into the drainage system in Ba Town as they believe it needs to be cleared as water is still stuck in the town when floodwaters start to recede.

Secretary, Anil Amin says flooding of Ba Town has been a long-standing issue and the businesses need a solution.

Amin adds floodwaters also come into the town through Elevuka Creek and they can get some relief if the creek is diverted away from the town.

The Director of Ba Printery, Pranil Sharma says they have not had any walk-in customers since the devastating floods in Ba Town.

He says many businesses are still recovering.

Akash Raniga who runs a jewellery shop says they are also struggling.
