BIC Fiji FACT: Defending champ Lautoka and Navua finish match in 1-all draw

A goal in the dying minutes of the match by Blue Gas Navua’s Sairusi Nalaubu has saved them from a loss in their first match of the 2025 BIC Fiji FACT at the hands of the defending champions Pacific Seafood Supplies Lautoka as the match finished in a 1-all draw at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

They were tied nil-all at half time.

Lautoka captain Saula Waqa scored a goal in the 57th minute while Nalaubu equalised in the 90th minute.

Lautoka’s Ilimotama Jese received a yellow card in the first half.

Navua Coach Saiyad Ali says they played according to their game plan but unfortunately, at times, the players were all over the field.

He says Navua could have won in the game in the first but missed 2 in the first and 4 in the second half but managed to score in the 90th minute.

Ali says they return to the drawing board to figure out their mistakes and come back stronger tomorrow.

He will work on their finishing and concentration on the match.

While commending the team, Lautoka coach Anginesh Prasad says they knew Navua will play long ball and rely on Nalaubu but unfortunately, they slipped through.

In a game earlier today, PartsLink Automotive/Manasa Export Nadroga and Bula Rentals & Tours Nadi played to a goalless draw in the tournament opener.

Meanwhile, the match between Rewa and Ba is currently underway while Labasa will face host Suva at 7 tonight.
