People in the Western Division can expect more assistance as the Australian Government will be providing $770,000 to FRIEND Fiji.

The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says this grant will provide food, medicine and mobility aid for people in the West with disabilities and those affected by COVID-19.

He says this will also help the TeleHealth services that FRIEND Fiji is doing in partnership with the Health Ministry.

It will also include additional Personal Protective Equipment, resources and catering for the front-line workers.

FRIEND Fiji Director Sashi Kiran had said last week after delivering around half a million dollars of food and other basic needs in lockdown Lautoka and Nadi that they were running out of resources.

She had said around $100,000 was citizen contributions and donations.

If you want to help FRIEND Fiji in providing assistance to people in the West, you can call them on 8983183.
