At least 12 paramedics have been killed in the latest Israeli strike on a Lebanese civil defence centre.

The World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says he deplores the killing of at least 12 paramedics, who were killed in an Israeli air strike on a Lebanese civil defence centre in Lebanon’s eastern Baalbek region.

The Director-General wrote in a post on social media that the centre has been massively damaged and attacks on health care are becoming the new normal in conflicts.

He says this must stop everywhere.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said that Israeli attacks killed 59 people and wounded another 182 across the country over the previous 24-hour reporting period.
