Around 10 cows were killed in a road accident near Waimaro on the Kings Highway this morning.
Police say the driver of a heavy goods truck allegedly failed to control the truck and hit the cows.
Police say the driver saw a boy herding the cows to the other side of the road, however could not control the truck resulting in the accident.
A private car and a taxi were also involved in this accident.
The taxi driver sustained serious injuries and is admitted in hospital.
